Ken Dosman had a great idea.He thought that travelling RVers should be able to have a wood deck outside their RV just as the seasonal RVers have.
Of course you can't build a wooden deck every time you change campsites so Ken came up with the idea of a portable roll-up deck that you can carry with you in your RV.
When you get to your overnight campsite and have set the rig up then you bring out what Ken refers to as "the ultimate portable deck" and you roll it out. Decks-To-Go builds wooden decks of pressure-treated pine in several sizes with a pliable fastening strip underneath. You don't see it when you have your deck rolled out and you are sitting on it in your camp chair, but when it comes time to leave you simply grab the edge of your deck and start rolling it up, that's when the industrial grade nylon strapping comes into view. When we spoke with Ken recently he said that there are four 5/8" galvanized stapes in each place that the strapping touches the wood. The strapping is the same type used to hold loads on heavy transport trucks.
When you come to roll it up it takes just a few seconds and you have a roll of deck that you can stow anywhere there's room and it is all held together by that pliable strip underneath. The roll weighs about 75 pounds.
A standard size 4' 8" by 10' is sell for about $200. A smaller 4' 8" by 8' would be proportionally less. Ken will apparently build you whatever size you like.
