Canadian Mountie accessory introduced by Department
56
Available at Canadian dealers only

For just the third time in history there will be a Department 56
accessory piece that is exclusive to Canada.
This year Department 56 dealers in Canada only will retail a special
Canadian Mountie accessory that is designated as a Heritage Village
piece.
According to a Department 56 spokesperson, the new piece will feature
a Canadian Mountie on a horse and will be carrying a Canadian flag. It
will be made of porcelain, will be about five inches in height, and is
expected to carry a Canadian retail price of $38.50 plus taxes.
Like other pieces exclusive to Canada, this item is expected to be
very popular, especially when one considers that mounties on horses
rarely travel alone.
The famous RCMP Musical Ride features a number of mounties on horses
carrying flags so it is quite possible that some collectors will want
more than one for their village.
Most Canadian Department 56 retailers are not big speculators so
don't look for huge inventories. This is one item that will need to be
ordered just as soon as possible if collectors want to assure one or
more for their village.
The previous two Canadian accessories were extremely popular. The
first was a Canadian version of the Snow Village flagpole. It did not
sell well when originally released, but once collectors realized that
one had been available, the distributor's remaining stock sold out
quickly.
The only other accessory that was exclusive to Canada was the
Canadian black van which was brought out in time for the First Canadian
International Gathering of Collectors held in London, Ontario and
organized by Elizabeth's Villages and The Canadian Village
Collector Magazine. It too was a fabulous success.
The accessory has arrived a some Canadian dealers' showrooms so
don't wait long to get in and pick up yours! Back to Index
