TOMBSTONE RV PARK AND RESORT A GREAT BASE CAMP WHILE VISITING TOMBSTONE,
ARIZONA
By Harold Merton

The Tombstone RV Park and Resort is located just north
of the town of Tombstone.
A former KOA, this campground has been renovated and now has 86 serviced
RV sites , 4 cabins and 6 Cowboy Suites. Cowboy suites are motel rooms.
Their large, level, tree-shaded pull-through sites with water, electric
and sewer as well as TV hookups at most sites. WiFi is available and
there are a number of tent sites as well. Their swimming pool is open
May to October each year.
They feature clean washrooms and free hot showers and have an on-site
laundry, pool, campfire rings and a store that sells convenience items
as well as souvenirs, ice and propane.
But most important is they offer a free shuttle bus into Tombstone from
8 a.m. to 8 p.m. which we would take if we ventured there again. (We
stayed in Tucson about 60 miles away and drove down for the day).
This RV park would make a good headquarters for a multi-day stay in
the southern Arizona area. Besides Tombstone and Boot Hill the town
of Bisbee, with it's old copper mine, is just 23 miles away as are other
old west towns and attractions. Agua, Mexico is a just 50 miles away
so you are not very far north of the Arizona/Mexico border.
We stopped for propane on our way out of Tombstone and back to Tucson
where we were staying and even though it was past the hour for propane
service the owner came out and filled us up. I found the rate quite
reasonable.
There's lots of fun things to do in the Tombstone are and unfortunately
we had only part of a day there. Sometimes we just have to move on but
this is one spot we really would like to go back to. This RV park would
be a good place to stay and the new owners are working very hard to
make improvements that will appeal to their customers.
