Oak Grove Campground/Resort is situated just a short distance from Holland State Park and Big Red Lighthouse, a colorful landmark that stands on the South Pier of Lake Michigan's eastern shoreline. They offer shades sites with full hook-ups (30 or 50 amp), a heated pool, whirlpool, store, game room, playground, picnic tables, firepits, paved roads and paved bike trails all in an alcohol-free environment. When we visited Holland we stopped at Oak Grove on our way to the lighthouse. It was a Sunday and the campground office was closed. We could have gained access by putting $38 to $42 into a night registration envelope to pay for a nightly spot but we were not able to talk to any of the owners to get information. When we visit a campground we like to gather information so that we can do an in-depth story for Scope. Because it was such a nice day we decided to head out towards our next destination after having spent a few days in Holland at the Tulip TimeFestival. The campground also offers rustic cabin rentals at $65.00 per night and if you really want to use their best accommodation you can opt for their luxury guest house which rents for $1,200 per week. If you would like you can rent bikes including tandems, 21 speeds, single speeds, and kid's bikes. Oak Grove looks like a very nice park and should we be in the area again we would probably consider staying with them. You will need your own transportation to get to the downtown area as this campground is a distance from the city's downtown area.
