WATER PARK AT AFRICAN LION SAFARI IS A SUMMER DELIGHT!

By Harold Merton

Scope Photos by Harold Merton

One of the newest features at African Lion Safari near Cambridge, Ontario is a fabulous water park that appeals to youngsters of all ages and the adults who bring them to the attraction.

Misumu Bay Wet Play is an interactive water adventure for kids. A tipping bucket, water sprays and a splash pool all keep the youngsters busy after they have enjoyed everything else that the attraction has to offer.

Bathing suits are required and toddlers in diapers are restricted to certain areas that appeal to them. They must however have tight-seal plastic pants that are available at the Beachwear Shop.

Height restrictions apply with one area being reserved for children in the 40" to 60" category.

Children receive an official height measurement.

We watched for some time as the little folk ran back and forth under the sprays and mushrooms that made a hot afternoon a delight. They were thoroughly enjoying themselves as some parents watched and others who had donned their bathing suits led them by the hands. The brightly colored pink surface in the toddler area is very soft and that is good for little tumbles. When we were there a lot of babies were gleefully enjoying the water break.

Water slides, flat areas, water umbrellas and small shallow depressions in the surface are just right for the tiniest of customers at the park.

If it's a soaking you want you'll get it and dozens of older kids were gathered, some with their parents, under the huge water bucket that slowly fills then dumps on those below.

Water slide tubes and other unique water features kept them busy and happy for a long time.

There is some seating for parents within the pool area allowing the kids to enjoy themselves while the parents were close at hand.

A change room and washroom building is adjacent to the water area.

The Beachwear Shop carries a number of products that patrons might require.

It is obvious that this feature of the Lion Safari was a great idea and something that will bring more families to the attraction, especially on hot summer days.
