My wife had been looking for years for a store that carried the 50's style
saddle shoes and when we were in Branson she finally found a store that
handled this unique product. Several of the Branson shows we attended
were of the 50s theme and during one of the intermissions Elizabeth approached
one of the girls in the show who was wearing saddle shoes to find out
where they got them. The young lady wasn't quite sure of the source because
the show's wardrobe department had acquired them but she did think they
came from a local store. That was enough for Elizabeth and she made of
quest of finding out where that store was. We finally found Reish Shoe
Store at 120 South Commercial Street in downtown Branson. They had a very
large selection and there was no trouble finding her size. Remarkably
they were also very reasonable in price. The Reish store is located in
old downtown Branson and has been "fitting feet since 1934".
They handle the original "Jumping Jack" saddle shoes, a name
familiar to those who know about this unique shoe product. If you have
been looking then perhaps this will help you too. I know Elizabeth is
very happy with hers and they were a hit at a recent sorority convention's
50's night. Those ladies knew that these were the real thing!
